Track 2:         More To This Life

This song was written for the 1999 Free Lutheran Youth (FLY) Convention in Estes Park, CO. Realizing the song itself wasn't a new idea, I wanted to give the message a different feel - less of a contemplative tone and more of a celebration - a celebration of testimony and worship. The lyrics were crafted over a period of time with members of the FLY board offering replacements for words that didn't quite grab the reality of the message. The bridge was added as an opportunity to respond to the testimony of the song in a spirit of worship - with the simple proclamation "You are the only holy God."

More to This Life

by Jeremy Erickson

Been searching for this life for days and days.

Found no one who could guide me through this haze.

Been trapped inside this world of shades of gray.

Then You stepped in and chased the clouds away.

And I'm so glad You found me.

Now all these colors surround me.

And with peace and joy around me,

You hear me when I pray.

[chorus]

And there's more to this life than I realized.

Now I understand.

That there's no life like life with Jesus Christ.

And I'm telling you now that I've finally found

The Life worth living for.

I once thought I could make it on my own.

I wound up facing all my fears alone.

Then when Your love and faithfulness broke through,

I could do nothing less than run to You.

Now I'm so glad You found me.

Now all these colors surround me.

And with peace and joy around me,

You hear me when I pray.

[chorus]

You are the only holy God.

You are the only holy God.

I will trust You and obey.

I will worship and obey.

I will follow and obey God.

[chorus]
