Track 1:         The Hallelujah Song

Ben Nelson and I were passing time (something we do quite well) with two guitars in a Bible School dorm room several years ago. He was playing this fast-moving melody line over the top of what I was playing. We ended up singing (w/o words) on top of that, and decided it was pretty cool, but had no clue what to do with it. A few weeks later I wrote the words to the song, wanting to convey just a few of the many manifestations of praise in the Bible. Originally I entitled it, "What it Means to Praise," but decided the song wasn't exactly exhaustive on the matter, and the name probably wouldn't stick anyway. So "The Hallelujah Song" seemed fitting.

The Hallelujah Song

by Jeremy Erickson & Ben Nelson

Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

It means that I will worship.

It means that I will praise.

It means that I will bow down.

It means that I will raise my hands.

It means that I will laugh.

It means that I will cry.

It means that I will give my all, God on High.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

It means that God is Good.

It means that God is holy.

It means that God is all.

It means that He's the only One.

And I will laugh forever.

And I will sing with joy.

And I will fall in honor.

Praises employed.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah...

I will worship You.

I will praise You.

Now I worship You.

Now I praise You.

Hallelujah, Hallelujah...
