ruth is, I'm still learning how to do this stuff - how to produce an album, how to write a song, how to capture truths and wonders with music - but for those who can enjoy the process, here it is: The Extras portray, in all honesty, the Process - the highs and lows of life and faith as well as music. We grow, and what was isn't any more. And what will be isn't yet. It's all good, because it's the Process. For me, this album represents a part of that process - the friendships represented by the friends singing with me, theThe Dockcrew struggles by the words we sang, our humanness by the frailty of the tracks, and the grace of God by the fact that somehow, in the midst of all this, people are moved to seek Jesus. I pray it's so, anyhow. And I pray that we may know, in the same way God uses the unpolished versions of a few carelessly written songs, He can take "the extras" of life and turn them into glorious tools for His service. There is a God in heaven who chooses the simple things of this world to shame the wise, and the weak things of this world to shame the strong. This God has a heart for "the extras." I sing as one who's grateful. Thanks for listening.

"Working (and playing) with Jer and the "crew" on this project has been a real blessing.  Between Seth's snot in Josh's hair, Ben and Ben exceeding the speed limit...in a shopping cart, Wes' car deciding to leave with him, discovering the flying power of those rubber urinal screens (fresh out of the package), and hearing what happens when a cell phone passes too close to a Neumann U-87 microphone, we managed to put it all together.  I believe this music will minister to anyone who hears it, just as we who recorded it have been ministered to.  Hats off to Jeremy, for showing us how much fun, work, music and worship can be crammed into a very small window of opportunity!"

"Can I define the dockcrew as a random group of musicians and friends hanging out, singing, laughing talking, and just enjoying the fellowship that God has created...and making a CD in the process?  It was phenomenal to be in such an uplifting setting as we worked to make an excellent noise unto the Lord.  The bond between Christian friends united in praising our Father is unlike any other because it's an eternal one.  Does anyone else hear Michael W. Smith singing "and friends are friends forever..."?  Sorry.

"It was a new experience for me to be able to watch the recording process of this album, and it gave me a greater appreciation for Jeremy and his work.  There were many late nights, and I realized just how hard being in the studio is.  It was cool to see the sense of community among all of those involved on this album.  I hope that part of the project can come alive to the listeners as it did to me.  It was a great group of people and they were fun times.  And who can forget Jim Reynolds and Studio P?
